3 Amazing American Restaurants to Try When You Visit Anna Maria

You might not think too much about where you are going to eat while you are booking your Anna Maria Island vacation rental, but Anna Maria Island has some fantastic eateries that deserve your attention – and appetite.

These are the three amazing American-style restaurants you should totally try when you come to stay on Anna Maria Island. They each offer something unique, and even though they are American-style restaurants, there are some special dishes at each one that you simply will not find anywhere else.

Harry’s Grill

When you are looking for places to eat on Anna Maria Island, be sure to stop into Harry’s Grill. This is one of the restaurants on the Island that has a pet-friendly patio. It also hosts live music and cornhole games! Kitchen hours go from 11:30 a.m to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday. Happy Hour is from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Start off by sinking your teeth into one of their appetizers from The Gangway portion of the menu. The onion rings are particularly famous, having been featured in Southern Living Magazine!

Get all aboard the soup and salad menu, then shove off with some of Harry’s seafood dishes. The Landlubber’s Delight options are just as tasty, especially if you are a fan of burgers. Harry’s ½ Pound Cheeseburger is known as the best burger on the island. If you fancy a sandwich, the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is huge and filling. There are also a bunch of great options for the kids, and you can cap it all off with Pineapple Upside-Down Cake or Key Lime Pie.

The Porch

If you live on Anna Maria Island, you have heard about the Sign of the Mermaid restaurant. It was a long-standing restaurant for 30 years. However, it has shut down and now The Porch restaurant has moved into its location. So, why should you eat at The Porch while you are staying at one of our Anna Maria Island pet-friendly rentals?

Not only is The Porch in a historic building but the food is amazing. Every item on the menu is made from scratch and they don’t use any additives or preservatives. The Porch has a lunch, dinner, and a kids menu. The menus are subject to rotation and specials. There are a few favorites though that you must experience!

The smoked swordfish dip is a great appetizer to start with and is served with fried plantains and naan. For a more traditional appetizer, we recommend the coconut rum shrimp! For dinner, you must try the tamari maple glazed salmon that comes with your choice of one side.

The Porch is open Monday – Sunday 11 am – 9 pm. Located at 9707 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria.
