2017 America Recycles Day at SandBlast

Siesta Key has a popular sand sculpting competition that draws professionals from all over the world. Here on Anna Maria Island, you can assemble your own team of sculptors and enter a sand sculpting contest for both children and adults.

As a fund raiser for Keep Manatee Beautiful ( a nonprofit dedicated to keeping the community clean and beautiful), SandBlast is a great activity for families and friends to try something new and support a great cause.

Lessons and instruction for beginners is provided by master sculptors “Team Sandtastic” on Thursday & Friday ( Nov 2 – 3 @ 5 – 6 p.m.) and the rest of the itinerary is as follows:

Check-in 8 a.m.
Sculpting 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Judging 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Awards 2 p.m.

There’s also food and snacks provided, so get ready and learn more!

Symphony on the Sand

Join us at the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce for music on the beach. This is a wonderful event on Coquina Beach featuring three hours of fine dining and a performance by the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra.

6th Annual Cortez Stone Crab Festival

Eat, drink and be merry at the local festival celebrating seasonal seafood. Stone crab is a delectable treat that is only in season for a short time. This festival is held every November in the parking lot of Swordfish Grill and Tiki Bar. It is free to attend and shuttles are provided for transportation from parking at 116th street.
