Lizzie Lu Address Plaques Arrive!

What does Lizzie Lu’s Island Retreat have in common with Stephen Tyler from Aerosmith, Jasmine, James Taylor and the famous political couple Mary Matalin and James Carville?

They all own original art created by Liette Marcil, the respected and well known ceramic tile muralist. Lizzie Lu’s Island Retreat commissioned 10 original address plaques featuring images inspired by the names of each of the cottages to identify each one.

Each name and number plaque was painted by hand. The artist and each property owner worked closely together to bring this amazing project to life! The photo below shows Liette Marcil working on the sketch for Groovy Gecko Cottage.

Liette’s works have hung in the Museum School in Boston and numerous galleries in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., but Lizzie Lu’s has hung each of these signed originals outside of each cottage for guests and passersby to enjoy!

Here’s hoping the Canadian born artist will leave her Boston studio and travel South soon to see her creations lovingly displayed on beautiful Anna Maria Island.
